Spawns you on a medium-sized Taiga island surrounded by a fair sized ocean. Desert and Swamp biomes are located to the south of the island. Jungle and grasslands to the north. Extreme Hills, where you are able to find emeralds are located roughly north-northwest of the main island.

There are very few exposed cave systems on the island, however underneath there are a few decent sized caves hidden underneath the dirt, but a far more expansive cave system is located in the aforementioned Extreme Hills biome.
