This map was started in 2013 in 1.5.2, in survival. I played with my friends, until we got bored, and decided to build a city in creative.
Here it is.
Game version: 1.8.8-1.8.9
I know, it's only a small town now, with some buildings unfinished, but I think there are some really good buildings in it, that you should visit in-game (, or blow up :D ).

I'm going to upload a newer version, when the city gets noticeably bigger.

A castle built into an existing rock formation. The castle is surrounded by an obsidian wall. The world also contains a village-dome, temple ruins, pyramids, and a treasure vault in the nether.

This is the upgraded version of my Monorail! It is now designed to be used by multiple persons at once in every direction, one rail forward and one backward. The crossings have a funny structure so u can decide which way you want to go from wherever you come while still sitting in your minecart. There also happened other upgrades in the world, like a Monstercastle with a great design from in- and outside. And a few more people joined the server and started creating their own homes.
Version 3.0 of my Monorail! is already planned, it will work more like real trains, with automatic starts and a timetable for the minecarts.
Everything without the use of plugins.

Hello everyone, welcome to the newly updated version of Metropolis, version 3.0. Please download this map HERE: http://adf.ly/InNlO

I would like to thank everyone for all the wonderful support and the emails & comments as well. This map is becoming a huge success and the support motivates me to create more buildings, expand the city, and come up with new and innovative ideas that have never been attempted before.

For those of you who have been following version 1.0 and 2.0, the new version 3.0 has undergone some major changes including: complete city lighting system with street lights as well as torches everywhere so at night you can make your way around better.

I have built a new school and library, expanded the sewer system, designed 5 new office buildings, a 5 story parking garage (for all of those minecarts), as well as a number of other surprises that you'll just have to discover as you journey through the city.

I would like to make clear to everyone that the only mod I have used for this map is Rei's minimap, which is how I came up with the advanced navigational system using signs and detailed coordinate/directional information. Also, I want to make clear, I have not used any programs to design this, I have laid every block out by hand.

This is a great beginner map! Took me about a month to complete contains a safe village surrounded by a huuge zombie-proof fence surrounding the entire village with over 14 buildings, tons of secret tunnels, houses, treehouses, underground bases, nuke centers, and over 4 Minecart routes! A great map to begin with and make it bigger, huger, and even better. Enjoy! If used please credit bmxwatson. Thankyou!

We wanted a nice farm/ranch with a house and gardens to accompany it. Theres a couple of trainlines to a forest and village as well as a nice tower with a pub in the floor and in.

Definitely more stuff to be built in the future! Comment below if you have any ideas.

Oh yeah, we have about 18 dogs!
